Our parade of Top 10 Lists continues today with our Top 10 Favorite Lines From the Hip Hop Community in 2005. Puffy is this years all star, with 3 appearances on our list.
1) "It moisturizes my situation and maintains my sexy." Sean Puffy Combs, during his infomercial for Proactive Solution. Easily the most entertaining infomercial of the year.
2) "Do not dance in the back. I don't want nobody that dance in the back!" Again from Puffy, on his show Making The Band 2 (Season 2). Puff was upset with two of the contestants who were dancing toward the back of the stage rather than fighting for the attention of Diddy. Diddy was visibly upset by their lack of grandstanding, and muttered, "This is some bullshit, yo," as he eliminated them from the competition.
3) "I felt like the 'P' was getting between me and my fans and now we're closer. . .I even started to get confused myself -- and when I'd called someone on the telephone it took me a long time to explain who I was." Another quote from P. Diddy, this time explaining what led up to one of the biggest news stories of the year, as Sean Combs dropped the "P." from his name and became plain ol' Diddy.
4) "High like giraffe ass." From Re-Up Gang's We Got It For Cheap Volume 2. I haven't heard a simile as good as this one since English Lit.
5) "You Ugly Bush Pig, Slutmonkey Whore." This one is from Benzino, part owner of The Source and failed rapper, on the voicemail of Ozone magazine editor Julia Beverly. Benzino was upset with an article she had written about him. This quote may offend some, but its better than any of the lyrics that have been ghostwritten for him on any of his rap albums.
6) "I'm not a businessman, I'm a Business, Man." Jay-Z, on the Remix of Kanye West's Diamonds. He's not bragging, he's telling the truth.
7) "You ain't get shot again so whatÆs your second album about?" Jadakiss' response to 50 Cent's Piggy Bank record. Pretty much sums up 50 Cent's whole appeal to the masses.
8) "Could it be that me and he are tighter than R. Kelly in his teens." M.I.A. on U.R.A.Q.T. A couple of you missed the meaning of this quote the last time I mentioned it. Kells likes to get to know (in the biblical sense) his teenage fans. Get it?
9) "I think I just shitted on myself." R. Kelly, in Chapter 10 of his magnum opus Trapped in the Closet. From videotaping himself urinating on underage girls to writing Shakespearian epics, this dude is the most entertaining thing happening in R&B.
10) "Congratulations, you're a meathead son." Brad, from MTV's Real World / Road Rules Challenge. Ok, this isn't a hip hop quote, but its funny and I use it in casual conversation whenever I get the chance. Brad said this after "The Miz" gave him an atomic wedgie.
