ShowYouSuck - Clam Chowder Soup
Lot's of new stuff coming from some familiar faces for the new year: a Wu-Tang sponsored collaboration between Zilla Rocca, My Man Shafe, and Alex Ludovico. More singles from Shafe's upcoming album. A new EP from State Champs. More new joints from Chachi. An interview with Sintex, an accountant turned rapper who will be breaking down the science behind the Occupy movement. The long awaited interview with MC Frontalot. Tons of new beats from Bless 1, Griff, and a host of other producers. And I haven't even checked my inbox since the holidays! Until I find the time to actually give each of those projects the write ups they deserve, however, I'm going to continue doing short features on as many new artists as I can.
I came across Chicago's Clinton Sandifer, aka ShowYouSuck, through the State Champs' Johnny Redd, whose facebook wall has been a reliable source of great underground hip hop for the past year or so. ShowYouSuck is as self deprecating as his name suggests, describing himself on twitter with the line, "I RAP Horribly!" I haven't yet downloaded his album One Man Pizza Party, but from what I've heard so far through his youtube videos it's safe to say he's being overly modest.
