Public Enemy's KMart Ad

To quote Chris Rock, "It's getting so a brother has nothing left to believe in." Up until seeing the above ad on channel zero today featuring Public Enemy's Harder Than You Think, I would've never thought Chuck D was capable of selling out. I realize in this day and age it's routine to see hip hop artists advertise everything from soda to male enhancement pills, but it's hard to express how disappointing it is for me to see what I consider to be the most important emcee in hip hop shilling for a corporation like Kmart.

I suppose the one consolation from this is that the song KMart is using is taken from an album called, How You Sell Soul to a Soulless People. I'll just pretend this is an intentionally subversive move on Chuck's part:
