This weekend I hung out with my man Bruno aka Mexico Beats, plotting my first official appearance on wax as a dj. I've still got a ways to go before I reach Primo status, but if everything works out you might just hear a scratched hook or two from me at some point in 2011. The plan is to get a couple of tracks down for this Puerto Rican kid from Newark going by the name Rich Port ("Rich Port" being the literal translation of "Puerto Rico"). Rich Port's been recording for over ten years, since his high school days, but aside from a few mixtapes that he sold out of the trunk in Newark he hasn't released any of it. I'm hoping to change that, because he's got some dope material in his collection.
The following is a song that he recorded several years ago, something that will become evident when you hear his reference to the Jay and Nas beef of years past. It holds up well, though. Peep:
