I finally got around to watching Star Wars Episode 3 last night. Thought it was better than the first two (er...newest two, whatever), but the dialog was atrocious. One time in eigth grade my english teacher made us write our own plays and then perform the plays in front of the whole class. This one Star Wars geek in the class wrote a sci-fi love story for his play, and everyone in the class, including the teacher, laughed at him. Painful to watch. However, the dialog in that kid's play was at least as good as George Lucas' effort here.
Lots of pretty pictures on the screen to distract you from all that, though. Still don't think Darth was anywhere near as cool as he was in the original movies. Not that I'm breaking any new ground in the movie review area or anything, as just about everyone has said the same thing about this movie.
Anyway, it got me on a little Star Wars vibe. The first clip I am linking to today is of
DJ Keltech, a Welsh DJ best known on the internet for creating short videos of himself scratching up records while dressed up in costume. In this clip, he dresses up as Darth Vader and scratches up the Star Wars Theme.

The second clip is of
Skratch Bastid, a dj from Nova Scotia. Its from Scribble Jam 2001, a dj contest, where Skratch cuts up an unrelated sample to produce the Star Wars Imperial March song. Pretty impressive to do that off the top of your head, in the middle of a competition.
