About five years ago, my man Bless 1 sent me a track he had recorded for his album Starving Artist with a Swedish singer named Kissey Asplund. Her voice was amazing, but she promptly fell off my radar after popping up on just a few tracks shortly after that - another song with Bless for her own album, and a couple of unreleased tracks from Philly duo MAGr.

During the intervening years, she seems to have become an artist of some acclaim over in Europe, both as a singer and a producer. She recently began putting out free songs as part of a countdown over on her site. What exactly the significance of the countdown remains a mystery to me, as I don't believe she has a new album coming out anytime soon. In any event, this is the latest of her free offerings, a remix of Pharoahe Monch's classic Simon Says:

Nothing will ever match the original Godzilla sample, but Kissey's vocals add a nice touch to the remix.
