D-One - 1 Block
I know flossing on expensive rims has been played out since about 2005, but the 24" elbows on the drop top Cadillac in D-One's video for 1 Block caught my eye. Presumably the entire budget went towards paying off that car, a strategy that worked out well enough for Juvenile back in 1998 when Juvie flipped a video budget into two new Ferraris and national awareness of Cash Money. Houston's D-One is no Juvenile, however, despite all of the lyrical shots he seems to be taking at Lil Wayne and company. Nevertheless I'm fascinated by this video, which is so over the top in its attempts to show just how real D-One is living life - Camera zoom-in on the multiple gold chains and the glock in the waistband? Check. Dice game played over a stack of Benjamins? Check! - that I was left wondering if it was a parody by the time the old guy rolls up on his ten speed bike.
