It's been a minute since I've had an opportunity to post up some new material from my Clean Guns bredren, Nico and Zilla. They're currently working on a new EP and, if what little I've heard so far is any indication, it should be tremendous. Working with Griff of RhymeCity, they've put together some stuff that's unlike anything they've done before. I can't put any of that up yet (remember the title Goldmine for future reference, though), but nevertheless I've got some new material that features the Philly duo off of a new mixtape, Web's Great I.D.e.A., from Los Angeles (by way of Rhode Island) emcee Web.
First up is a song for the sizzurp heads and binge drinkers alike, in which Web, Nico and Zilla navigate through the haze of something a little stronger than the MGD64's I've been favoring lately. Over a beat that sounds like a mellowed out cut from Swishahouse, Clean Guns come with the Tussionex flow on this one:
On the second song Nico goes back to basics, laying down the Iron Curtain with his signature mix of tough talk and lyricism. All you other emcees putting out street rhymes need to step your game up, because this kid is rapping circles around y'all.
My main reason for checking out Web's mixtape was for the Clean Guns features, but the rest of it's pretty good as well. I've never heard of Web before, but he's a more than competent emcee and he's pulled together some great beats. It's free, so go cop it:
