High off Banana Peels and New Jack Swing - 810, Black Sunn and Mydus:

I spent most of last week preparing for and attending a conference for work, and by the time I got back on Friday I found my inbox filled to capacity with music submissions. I'll do my best to catch up and post as many of them as I can this week, so to start the week off right I'm putting up some new tracks from my two favorite Baltimore emcees, 810 and The Black Sunn.

First up, we've got the second single off of Sunn's upcoming album Born Alone, Die Alone. The album, produced entirely by Mydus, will be available for free online on Friday. Once again, Mydus serves up an incredible sample that Black Sunn rips apart, shouting out all the banana spliff smokers with a flow that sounds like an '09 version of BDI. Peep:

The Black Sunn - The Mellow (Produced by Mydus)

The second track, from 810, is a bit of a change in direction. Once again produced by Mydus, this one has a bit of an updated New Jack Swing sound to it. I haven't heard too many underground cats manage to pull off the R&B crossover, but 810 is surprisingly successful here:

810 - U Won't Like This (Produced By Mydus)

Over the past few years, I've had a chance to put up some great hip hop from regional movements in Philly, Toronto, Chicago, Minnesota and NY. For the most part, those regions have had several groups that have contributed and built up their respective scenes. It's been quite impressive, then, to see 810 and Sunn, with an assist from Mydus, develop their own sound in just a few short months, virtually on their own marking Baltimore's territory within hip hop's landscape. Can't wait to see what's up next for them.
