DJ Honda featuring Ras Kass - H IV

I know I've been rolling heavy with the videos lately, so I'll try to drop an actual mp3 before the week ends. In the meantime, here's the first single off of DJ Honda's upcoming album, H IV, due out in 2008. As you can probably tell from the video itself, this is not a final cut of the track. It's enough to get me fairly excited about the album, though. Honda has a knack for getting great performances out of B-list rappers, so I'm expecting good things out of this latest album. I couldn't find a full tracklisting for it, but it looks like The Beatnuts, Garcia, PMD and Kool G Rap will be putting in appearances.

Just to round out this post, here are my top three tracks from DJ Honda (all youtube links):

Mos Def - Travellin' Man

Cuban Link and JuJu - On The Mic

Beatnuts and Fat Joe - Out for the Cash

For more videos and songs from Honda, hit up his MySpace.

Looks like that Garcia link goes to the wrong page. Oh well. For those that don't know him, he's a rapper out of Florida.

Is Honda's homebase still Tokyo? Amazing how he gets these connections; I guess skills translate in any language.

His record label is based in Japan, but according to his MySpace page he lives in Brooklyn now. I can't seem to find the link, but it looks like he's signed Rob Swift, PMD and the Beatnuts to his label, though I'm not sure if that's just for distribution in Japan.

And I forgot about that De La song, that's another dope track.

My only concern with the new album is the title itself. Am I the only one that sees some marketing problems with "HIV"?
