I hope y'all liked that Clean Guns interview from yesterday (thanks again to Zilla for coming through). I've got a couple more interviews coming down the pipeline, including one with DJ Swindle of Bobb Deep and Al-Matic fame, so keep an eye out for that some time around the end of the month. And not only am I interviewing people, these days I'm even getting interviewed myself! Well, sort of. My man Rekzai from Thug Online recently asked me what I thought made for a good hip hop album. Check here for my response, as well as the responses from a few other bloggers.
Ok, on to today's track (via low-bee). From Israeli dj Sabbo, part of the Soulico crew, this is a remix of Ol' Dirty Bastard's Dirty Dirty:
The rap game's been missing something ever since ODB passed away. No doubt he was a terrible role model for the kids, but there will never be another rapper like him. From his interviews to his lyrics to his videos, it might not have always made sense, but it was always entertaining. Some classic moments from the Ol' Dirt Dog:
Most of the other responses I agreed with, except for the idea that an album needs to have a club banger on it to be a "good" album.
Speaking of ODB, did you see that Vh1 documentary they had a few years ago, with cameras following him around after he got out of jail? None of his old crew would give him the time of day. Dame Dash was the only person who helped him out. The last couple of years he was alive seemed pretty damn depressing.
