Earlier today Grand Wizard Theodore [Who the perpetually out of touch B.E.T. ranked as only the ninth most influential dj, a ranking only slightly better than their decision not to give Kool Herc the number one spot. But I digress.] posted a link to a clip from a 1940's film featuring dancing that looks surprisingly similar to Toprocking, the dance move that is the essential building block to bboying. In response to that clip, someone else posted the above video featuring even older, and more varied, footage of the origins to many other bboy moves. The footage is fairly low quality, but worth watching nonetheless to see how everything from African dancing to Yoga to Kung Fu has influenced breakdancing.
