In a review that contains far more colorful prose than I'm capable of stringing together, Passion of the Weiss describes this latest video from Zilla Rocca, Has-Lo, and Open Mike Eagle as, "One of the most joyous clips any of these three have released." With the exception of the Ify Jerry Crusade sampling Something Good, I'm hard pressed to come up with any counterpoint to that statement and it serves as a pretty succinct review of one of my favorite songs of the year.
In case you missed the original audio version of the Dr. Quandary produced Full Spectrum 2, you can grab it over here. And for the audio and video of the original version of Full Spectrum, head on over here. Better yet, grab the entire Full Spectrum EP from Zilla's bandcamp page while it's still free!
But but but wait it gets better, as this is just the first of several projects coming from Zilla and his Wrecking Crew compatriots Has-Lo and Curly Castro. They'll be dropping the long awaited Wu Tang Pulp album early next month and, having now heard the album in its entirety, I can confidently say that all of the time and effort they put into it has paid off in what has come together as one of the best albums start to finish that I have heard in quite some time.
Building off of the chemistry that they seem to have developed recording Full Spectrum 2, Zilla, Has-Lo, and Open Mike Eagle formed like Voltron Megaman once again for a guest appearance on Phoenix emcee Random's recent track Super Move. Check it out:
Finally, Has-Lo and Open Mike Eagle teamed up for one more video that has been getting some nice buzz over the past week. I can't entirely relate, as I'm still living through my (Jansport) Back Pack present, but it's a nice track nonetheless:
